What You Will Learn

  • How to distinguish between authentic emotions and "false feelings"/"blame bombs," in Tango situations with a partner when you may be triggered
  • How to appreciate your partners' contributions without inadvertently being subtly manipulative or distancing them
  • How to ask for what you need in partnership without triggering your partner's anger or defensiveness
  • How to become aware of the way your inner state and feelings are connected to met and unmet needs
  • How to devise a creative and peaceful approaches to getting your needs fully met without sacrificing conneciton 

Course Requirements

  • Weekly partnership journal
  • Weekly 20 minute peer check-in (phone call or in person) 
  • Monthly 90 minute class on fundamental principles of dialogue with a partner
  • Monthly 30 minute 1-on-1 to get personal guidance on developing new skills to serve your key partnerships

Andrei Andreev

Andrei Andreev brings together all the skill and sensitivity from realms as diverse as Nonviolent Communication, Contact Improvisation, and Theatre of the Oppressed - to help people of all types discover new dimensions of empathy and connection. A certified parent educator through Echo Parenting & Education, Andrei has presented workshops locally and abroad. He has been studying, practicing, and teaching alternative forms of communication and embodiment since 2005, which he has an opportunity to practice daily with his life partner, educator Julianne Gale. Mitra and Stefan have invited him to share his work at Oxygen because of how he has contributed to their process of partnering in Tango.
