The Language of Tango Figures

Special 3-part course starting Sept. 26

There is a simple, beautiful structure that all tango figures are built on. Like the grammar of a language, or the laws of nature, this structure exists whether we are aware of it or not.

You don’t need to know it to dance tango (most people don’t) but understanding this structure can make you a more creative, more expressive dancer. You can grasp new movements more quickly, and enjoy the pleasure of creating your own.

It also offers a different way of thinking about leading and following tango movements. It is this kind of study that led to an explosion of movements in the nineties that persist today across all tango styes.

We’ll meet three Tuesdays 8-9pm. Each class is followed by two hours of practice time. No partner required.
